24 Hours in Fort Worth:

Tuesday 11th July :

I started my morning by packing up my suitcase as today I was travelling to Fort Worth Texas,

I checked out of my room at 9:30 am and made my way down to the reception area of the hotel.

I ordered an Uber through the Uber app to make my way to my accomodation in Fort Worth.

Once my Uber arrived I got in and made my towards my hotel accomodation.

It took about 45 minutes to get to my acommodation in Fort Worth Texas.

The accomodation I chose was Fort Worth Holiday Inn Express Downtown.

Upon arriving at my accommodation I made my way inside and checked in at the front desk before making my way up to my room.

Once I had settled into my room I decided to explore Fort Worth, I ordered an Uber through the Uber app and made my way to the Fort Worth Stock Yards.

Once I arrived I walked down the street and found the famous Fort Worth Stock Yards sign which I wanted to get a photo in front of!

As I continued exploring the Fort Worth Stockyards I made my way towards an attraction I wanted to experience while in Fort Worth, Billy Bobs Honky Tonk!

https://billybobstexas.com/

Billy Bobs is a huge country music honky tonk with a live bull-riding arena and restaurant all in one!

I had heard so much about Billy Bobs when researching places to visit in Fort Worth and was an amazing place to visit esecially if you love country music and famous barbeque!

Billy Bobs was such a fun place to explore there so much history here! My favourite part was the handprints of all the artists that have performed here in the past that was such a great way to memorise the history of performing here!

Also located in Billy Bobs is a restaurant which had so many great options!

I had a pulled pork bbq sandwich for lunch it was so tender and delicous!

I forgot to take a photo!

After lunch I walked through gift shop, there were so many interesting souvenirs and keepsakes here!

I had such a fun time exploring Billy Bobs Honky Tonk I would definitely recommend visiting when in Fort Worth!

As I walked through the Fort Worth Stock Yards I found an interesting bar called Stockyard Saloon!

This was a dive bar which is a older bar with dim lighting and neon signs!

I was excited to find a dive bar while in Texas as they are something we don’t have back in Australia!

I ordered a margarita and enjoyed a relaxing time inside from the scorching summer heat!

After having a relaxing time at Stockyard Saloon I made my way to the next attraction I wanted to experience while in Fort Worth:

John Wayne An American Experience: A musuem about John Wayne’s life and career!

https://www.johnwayneae.com/

I pre purchased tickets online but you can also purchase tickets when you arrive also.

I spent 2 hours wondering through all the exhibits and learning all about John Wayne!

This was such a amazing experience learning all about this great american!

I would definetly recommend visiting The John Wayne Experience when in Fort Worth Texas!

I ordered an uber and headed back home to my accomodation for the night after a great day of exploring Fort Worth.

Fort Worth is a wonderful city I cant wait to return in the future!

Safe Travels

  1. What a fantastic day in Fort Worth, Campbell! You really packed a lot into 24 hours—from classic Texas charm at the Stockyards to country vibes at Billy Bob’s and a dive bar experience that sounds straight out of a movie. Loved how you brought the city to life with your enthusiasm (even without the pulled pork photo—your description was enough to make my mouth water!). The John Wayne museum sounds like a must-visit too. Thanks for the great recommendations and fun travel vibes!
