Edinburgh Day 4:

Day 4 Edinburgh Tuesday 7th January 2014:

After a great night sleep I started my final day in Edinburgh by chatting to Emily and making plans to spend the day together, as this was my final day in Scotland before departing for Australia tomorrow morning.

I met Emily outside of my hotel at 11am, and we made our way to my room where I shared all the photos I had taken all through my Contiki Trip of Europe. As a great way to remember our time together in Scotland we had decided to exchange flags with each other I had an Australian Flag for her and she had a Scottish Flag for me which was absolutely enormous!

After exchanging flags Emily and myself decided to explore Edinburgh and we walked through Edinburgh and came across The Museum Of Childhood.

This was such an interesting museum displaying toys and games from across the generations. It was so interesting learning about toys and games as far back as World War II and how much childhood has changed over time.

After spending 2 hours exploring the Museum of Childhood we walked back through Edinburgh and decided to have afternoon tea at Starbucks at 2pm.

As we had a great afternoon tea we chatted about our great time together in Edinburgh and what we had planned for the future in our different countries.

After spending a great couple of hours chatting in Starbucks we walked back to my hotel at 4pm, where we said our farewells and how great it had been to meet in Edinburgh and how great friends we had become over the last few months.

Before going our separate ways we got a photo taken together to have a everlasting memory of the great time we had spent together in Edinburgh.

As a great memory of meeting each other we wrote a post to Interpals, the penpal website we had met each other one and they published our story which was such an amazing experience that we will both cherish forever.

Interpals Friendship Story:

After farewelling my amazing Scottish friend I made my way up to my hotel room and spent some time relaxing before doing a final pack to make sure I hadn’t left anything behind.

After I finished my final pack at 6:30 pm, I went for a short walk and purchased some take away for dinner before walking back to my hotel while reminiscing about the memories I had made in Edinburgh and what an amazing city Edinburgh is.

I will definitely return again!

I spent the rest of the night relaxing in my hotel room before falling asleep so I would be rested for the long journey home to Australia in the morning.

Safe Travels!

Campbell 🙂
