Contiki Day 10 Uluru to Alice Springs:

Day 10 Uluru To Alice Springs Friday 8th September 2017:

This morning we all met for a Farewell BBQ breakfast cooked by the trip manager at 9am.

After breakfast we said a final farewell to all our new friends as the 7 of us ending in Alice Springs were taking the coach back to Alice Springs at 10am.

The rest of the group was flying to Cairns at 2:30pm to start their East Coast Contiki Tour.

After farewelling everyone with amazing hugs the 7 of us made our way on the coach and headed back towards Alice Springs.

During our drive to our lunch stop at Erldunda Roadhouse, Our Trip Manager handed out some feedback forms to fill in to give an honest feedback on what we enjoyed about the Contiki trip and what suggestions if any we had to improve Contiki.

We arrived at our lunch stop at Erldunda Roadhouse at 12 pm.

Before heading back to the coach to depart Erldunda we saw the most amazing sight a local with the cutest dingo puppy I have ever seen!

Anshu an American friend got talking to the owner and got a photo with the dingo puppy it was super adorably cute!

After our lunch stop we boarded the coach at 1:30 pm for a 2-hour drive before arriving back in Alice Springs.

After our final drive we arrived at our accommodation for the night in Alice Springs at Ibis Styles Alice Springs at 3:30pm.

When we arrived at our hotel we collected all our bags and belongings off the coach as this was the last time we would see the coach as it was leaving the hotel to get fueled up for the next tour which departed Alice Springs on Sunday.

We checked into our rooms and spent some time relaxing before the 7 of us decided to take a walk into Alice Springs at 4 pm and do some exploring before our farewell dinner at Overlanders Steakhouse at 6pm.

We walked into town and visited some souvenir shops.

As we explored Alice Springs, Anshu wanted to find an authentic Akubra hat for our farewell dinner that night.

We wandered through the town centre and found a shop called OutBush Alice Springs which stocked Akubra hats as well as lots of authentic Australian clothing and accessories.

After trying on many Akubra hats Anshu found her favourite hat!

After exploring Alice Springs we made our way back to the hotel to get ready for our farewell dinner at Overlanders Steakhouse.

We all met Mark in the hotel reception at 6pm before making our way to Overlanders Steakhouse for our farewell dinner.

Overlanders Steakhouse was quite a unique Australian restaurant we all had the Drovers Blowout which included: fresh damper and soup of the day, a platter of crocodile Pattie, kangaroo fillet, buffalo chipotle and camel fillet, 200gram scotch fillet and apple pie for dessert.

After an amazing farewell dinner, we made our way back to the accommodation before heading to bed to and making plans to have a farewell breakfast in the morning.

Safe Travels!

Campbell 🙂
