At the beginning of January 2013, I had travelled a lot of Australia and came to the decision that I wanted to explore somewhere new and experience something out of my comfort zone!

To start planning where I would be interested in going I attended a local travel expo which was such a great resource of information.

Speaking with travel agents and tour operators about what different options their companies provided gave me a great idea of where I wanted to go and what I would like to experience.

After speaking with all the different providers I decided that Europe was the destination I was most interested in experiencing.

I had always had this dream of experiencing a European Christmas with cute Christmas markets and hopefully a white Christmas!

I spent some time looking through all the travel brochures and speaking to people at the travel expo and decided to go with Contiki Holidays as they ticked all my boxes of what i wanted to experience!

Contiki is a group travel company that specializes in holidays for 18-35 year olds.

The thing that set Contiki apart from the other companies I had researched was that they organized everything for you!

Including your accommodation, transport and meals!

This was a big plus for me not having to worry about trying to organise everything especially my first time outside of Australia in a foreign country!

The trip I decided to book was the European Discovery Winter that visited 9 European Countries in 12 days!

The reason I decided on this particular trip was that it was a short trip to get a taste of Europe and see where I would like to come back and explore more in the future!

I chose this particular Contiki trip as I would get to experience a White Christmas in Innsbruck and New Years Eve in Paris!

A once in a lifetime experience!

I booked this trip with Flight Centre as I wanted to have a point of contact if something went wrong!

My travel agent organised everything flights,pre night and post night accommodation in London as well as travel insurance.

My travel agent also organised accommodation and flights between London and Edinburgh as I decided to spend 5 days in Edinburgh after the trip had ended.

After purchasing everything from Flight Centre it was a countdown until the day i flew out of Australia for the first time!
